So ... why did the tech savvy owner of the Dallas Mavericks basketball team tell the media all future interviews will be done via his blog ...

I was tired of reading incomplete information or misinformation about what I was doing in the sports media. This was one way to get the facts out.

This is, you may remember, exactly the response given on the same question put to Robert Fripp and precisely why I'd put this same solution before the oft-misquoted Bill Murdoch -- putting aside the obvious transparency and accountability this forces from media journalism, I predict the blogged interview will become the sign of trusted source stature among journalists, especially when evoked from those who are so sufficiently valued for their comments they can dare to give this answer ...

And while mass-media news can expertly deconstruct and counter punditpoint all they like, among all those with the most to lose from journalistic license editorializings, who wouldn't want the final say of the un-spun self-published statement?
