Re-inventing Computing

Found via Silent Blue the most I need to say about Rajesh Jain's report on 7 Rainbow Revolutions on Reinventing Computing is that you'd get no argument from me ...

By taking a holistic view of the ecosystem and building a chain of integrated innovation, it will be finally possible to fulfill the dream of making computing accessible to every family, student and employee in every corner of the world. Only then will the true promise of the computer as a means to deliver solutions and services for the next users be realised. This is where the future of computing lies. This is why computing needs to be reinvented. This is where the next technology cycle will begin. This is the next big thing ...

I have my quibbles with some fine points -- like it's not centralized we need but truly cluster-computing grid-like who cares where network computing -- but nonetheless the entire series of
Looking Ahead
articles are highly recommended discussion points to ponder for anyone either as fed up with the industry as I am, or those who have had the foresight and restraint to eschew it thus far.
