http://blog.teledyn.com/node/477 Comments for "Lazy Solutions" en http://blog.teledyn.com/node/477 <p>I need a chunk of perl that converts '<i><a title="the unsung markup of email" href="http://urchin.earth.li/cgi-bin/twic/wiki/view.pl?page=WikiText">WikiText</a></i>' to <span class="caps">HTML </span>so I can lower the access barriers to posting weblogs. <img align="right" alt="godbless.jpg" src="/mt/archives/godbless.jpg" width="210" height="158" border="0"/>Trouble is, I don't have time to code it, and that's where <a title="LazyWeb" href="http://www.lazyweb.org/">LazyWeb</a> comes it, a site that asks us to blog them a quest, and Text::WikiText is mine.</p><p>Why WikiText? First I should say <em>what</em> it is because everyone <em>knows</em> even if they don't know what it is called. Ever use underscores in an email to signify <em>underlined</em> text? or use /emphasis/? Those simple markups are the beginnings of a formal text code that can make coding hotlinks as easy as [<a title="click here to learn more about WikiText" href="http://urchin.earth.li/cgi-bin/twic/wiki/view.pl?page=WikiText">square brackets</a>] and if popular blogs like MT or Blogger could just import a simple module to enable it, just about everyone could add some typography to their writing.
