Coffee House
Thursday, March 13, 2003

WDHS has another coffee house in the works, March 21st at Victor Last's B&B, and May and I have been invited to play.

dulcijoes.jpgLinton is doing the sketch for the poster, and had me model for the hands; we took this photo and I started playing around with The GIMP. Total fluke. The copy and paste-over of the fingers and the front of the coffee cup was easy and gave a cheezy National Enquirer effect, I zoomed in and smudged the edges and removed some of the white border around the dulcimer, but it still looked cheezy so I cut the hands and table out and pasted them on a white background and it was really ugly.

So I thought maybe an edge detect would bring out the lines and make it easier for him to sketch, and then, when I did that, it just _looked_ inverted, so I hit the "invert colours" and voila!

As Pee Wee Herman would once upon a time say, "I meant to do that."
