When new news items have been received, you can be alerted by an instant message via Jabber. This depends on your current presence. Otherwise the news items will be put on an overview page on this site.

Definately worth a whirl. The only part I'm not sure about is the redirection to the RSS item via a web browser -- certainly useful from a desktop, but for my envisoned use of the mobile Jabber handset it might be more desireable to have the selected item sent to me as an IM message. Nonetheless, as a news-tracker? Sounds good to me.
