Not often you get to blog yourself, but in this case, the nature of the discussion just seemed more apropos to the technical audience down at the Advogato where I've proposed a rethinking of the Arrow of Time in the context of distributing ...

Think about it: the RSS use-case is really not suitable to the polling model that is crushing a lot of sites with needless traffic, Conditional-GET notwithstanding -- the correct paradigm of RSS use is Listener/Observer

Those of you of a technical bent are welcome to pull up an e-chair and join the conversation over there, shred it to bits or throw in your nominations, heck maybe even implement it, which I've done on a work project, although it's too early to say if the thing is going to work but you can bet your sweets if it does I'll be back here again to gloat.
