Got hit with a bit of a blizzard yesterday, pretty much closed the roads out of Sauble although no barracades went up. The CFOS Children's Fund Broadcast said so few musicians got out there they were hustling people on to the stage with ice-cold guitars just so the MC's could take a break.For us, it was a chance to grab the sleds and head for the community center yard where Sauble Beach has one real bitchin' sled slide that graces down maybe 80 feet emptying into the main field. Bigger kids would go to the top, but us guys settled for about a third of the way which was plenty of speed by the time you hit bottom and rolled, and not so much of a hike if you're only 3 and your meanie Dad makes you haul your own sled back up the mountain.Not that anyone was complaining, mind you: When you're just turned 3, there's a certain Forbidden Charm to being big enough to actually make the trip ... a dozen or so times!
