Boz Scaggs?

Singers Unlimited: Peter Hum writes "Scaggs' voice does lend itself to jazz, I think. It's interesting and his delivery has the gravitas to handle a substantial jazz ballad without any nudge-nudge, hey-I'm-singing-jazz! on his part."

"Timbrally, it's hornlike at times, somehow appealingly nasal. Scagg has contracted out the musical direction to the heavyweight arranger Gil Goldstein, who brings an almost Gil Evans-like sense of colour to the best songs.

Overall, Scaggs has made a CD that will delight his fans, go down easy on jazz-lite radio, and not offend jazz fans overly."
